~~~My new *SlimPrim* Design~~~
I just had to post some pics of my new Slimprims,a mix of primitive folk art and old antique style felt bears.They are a little taller than I had planned measuring in at 11 inches but I love their cute whimsical appearance.With this design I use shaggy felt to offer a more affordable teddy creation.I will also be offering another design simular to the felt version made from mohair and I plan on naming them PrimKins.I had fun creating them and I will certainly be making more!I will post updates soon.~~~sharie
~~~Been sooo long!~~~

It has seemed like an eternity since I had the chance to post here on my folk art blog!It has been such a busy spring and summer for me.From a big rummage sale with floods and storms,a massive arts and crafts supplies de-cluttering to bearmaking and keeping up with my teddy blog,the whole summer will be ending soon!I did come up with another teddy design,a somewhat primitive and folksy look teddy(shown in the pic here)I was so excited to finish them up and get their listings on ebay but boy are things going slow there!I dont recall having such a slump in ages....before the recession hit!I figure many folks are getting ready to get the kids back in school and that means supplies and new clothes so I can certainly understand that.Many are also getting ready for the trip to close up their cabins before winter so I am hoping that this is the reason things are moving a bit slow on ebay.I know it is becoming harder to be a seller on ebay due to soooo many new rules and final value fees that are a bit hard to tolerate!The good thing is during this slump,it's given me some time to think about new venues for the future.One is to most definitely focus on my website and etsy shop.I would love to mix my mohair bears in with my primitive folk art bears that are made from felt.I would also like to start offering patterns for the felt and mohair bears along with some painted cloth folk art dolls,kitties and other fun whimsical animals.I would love to be able to get the patterns designed and ready by late fall but it will be quite a task to complete.I will be back to post new updates soon~~~~Sharie
