Whimsical friends creations

My goodness it has been ages since I had the chance to post here on my folkart blog!It is so hard to find time to take care of two blogs at a time,but I know I should try to post here a bit more often.Anyway,I thought I would share some extra photos of the gang I posted on my main teddy blog.I had so much fun creating some of these whimsical bears and friends and I do have new ideas floating around in my head for fall and winter designs!I will try to make it a goal to share some of the updates here soon!~~~~Sharie

New Prim Folk Art Pieces Completed***Finally!

I am so happy that I finally got the chance to finish these two new folk art pieces and actually list them on ebay!I was a little nervous venturing into the folk art and primitives category but took the plunge.Of course I got cold feet after they were listed,so I ended up putting the panda bear in a second where I am used to,artist bears.The panda is named Dandy and he is made of cloth with mixed media,shaggy felt and paperclay.He has his own scilpted sculpey base.the kitty,Freddy is made entirely from cloth with a weighted bottom for easy standing.They are both handpainted and original designs.they are now on ebay auction if you would like to learn more about them and see more pics.Thank you!~~~sharie

~~~My new *SlimPrim* Design~~~
I just had to post some pics of my new Slimprims,a mix of primitive folk art and old antique style felt bears.They are a little taller than I had planned measuring in at 11 inches but I love their cute whimsical appearance.With this design I use shaggy felt to offer a more affordable teddy creation.I will also be offering another design simular to the felt version made from mohair and I plan on naming them PrimKins.I had fun creating them and I will certainly be making more!I will post updates soon.~~~sharie
~~~Been sooo long!~~~

It has seemed like an eternity since I had the chance to post here on my folk art blog!It has been such a busy spring and summer for me.From a big rummage sale with floods and storms,a massive arts and crafts supplies de-cluttering to bearmaking and keeping up with my teddy blog,the whole summer will be ending soon!I did come up with another teddy design,a somewhat primitive and folksy look teddy(shown in the pic here)I was so excited to finish them up and get their listings on ebay but boy are things going slow there!I dont recall having such a slump in ages....before the recession hit!I figure many folks are getting ready to get the kids back in school and that means supplies and new clothes so I can certainly understand that.Many are also getting ready for the trip to close up their cabins before winter so I am hoping that this is the reason things are moving a bit slow on ebay.I know it is becoming harder to be a seller on ebay due to soooo many new rules and final value fees that are a bit hard to tolerate!The good thing is during this slump,it's given me some time to think about new venues for the future.One is to most definitely focus on my website and etsy shop.I would love to mix my mohair bears in with my primitive folk art bears that are made from felt.I would also like to start offering patterns for the felt and mohair bears along with some painted cloth folk art dolls,kitties and other fun whimsical animals.I would love to be able to get the patterns designed and ready by late fall but it will be quite a task to complete.I will be back to post new updates soon~~~~Sharie

New pics of work in progress

Here are some pictures of my works in progress.The painted folk art panda will be able to be attatched to the plaque and become a wallhanging.To match the panda plaque,is a little panda bear painting in the same style.Then there is a kitty cat angel collage painting,a circus kitty painnting with a deep blue background,and a circus collage painting with a little girl and kitty doll .I am hoping to have these completed along with prints to add to my etsy shop sometime this month.Thank you for visiting~~~Sharie
